each of these iconic albums inspired hip hop to go in a different direction.... which one do you think was more impactful or at least the one you prefer....

my opinion is a bit controversial....

sonically: the chronic, paid in full, it takes a nation, illmatic...
lyrically: illmatic, paid in full, it takes a nation, the chronic...
impact: the chronic, it takes a nation, paid in full, illmatic...
my preference: the chronic, it takes a nation, paid in full, illmatic...

four incredibly consequential albums no matter how you look at it but i think the chronic had the biggest impact as far as sound and it takes a nation had the biggest impact culturally.... paid and full and illmatic both changed how rappers wrote and flowed on the mic...

I’ve listened to Illmatic in full way more than the others. The production and mixing on the The Chronic still sounds so crisp though. that would be my second.
