Opera

Opera Neon is a new browser that puts AI in control of your tabs and browsing activities, but it'll cost $19.90 per month.

The AI wave is shifting from chatbots to agentic experiences, and browsers are the first to adapt to this change. Whether you want it or not, your favorite browser will have agents at some point in time.

Opera does not want to miss out on the race, and its Neon browser is the company's first attempt to create a truly futuristic browser.

Opera describes Neon as a browser built to act. It'll do tasks for you, open websites for you, manage tabs for you, and listen to you. The idea behind these agentic browsers is to put AI in control.

"Neon acts at your command, opening tabs, conducting research, finding the best prices, assessing security, whatever you need. It delivers outcomes you can use, share, and build on," Opera noted.

You can sign up for early access today.

Opera is already rolling out emails

As spotted on X, Opera Neon, the premium AI browser for Windows & macOS, costs $59.90 for nine months.

This is an early bird offer, but when the offer expires, Opera Neon will cost $19.90 per month.

Opera Neon isn't the only browser with an "AI first" idea.

Perplexity Comet is already doing pretty well as one of the first AI-powered browsers, and Microsoft Edge is also joining the race with Copilot mode.

@opera
Opera Neon is here.

This AI agentic browser is built to act.

Here’s how it takes AI power-users to a whole new level: 👇

@opera
Today we ship Opera Neon to the first users: a browser built to not only let you browse the web, but to also use agentic AI to act for you and with you as you browse and work on complex projects.

3/35
@opera
Opera Neon introduces Tasks as a new way to organize and work with them within one context.

Tasks are self-contained workspaces that understand context and make it possible to use the AI to analyze, compare, and act across multiple sources at once using Neon’s Chat feature.

4/35
@opera
With Neon Tasks, you can think of it as Opera Neon creating a mini-browser for each of your tasks, where the AI understands what you’re doing and helps you in this context - without accessing information from everything else in your browser.

5/35
@opera
Neon Cards are reusable prompt instructions that you can use and combine within Neon Chat. It’s like having a deck of your favorite AI behaviors ready to use when you need them vs. explaining your needs from scratch. You can build your own custom cards or draw from the community’s collection in the Cards store.

@opera
Opera Neon features a fully agentic browsing capability. At any time, the Neon Do function can be called upon to act within a specific Task. Neon can open new tabs, close others, and perform actions across them, always operating within the context of a Task.

@opera
Neon Make is Neon’s tool for creation.
It interprets what needs to be built and employs AI agents to get it done for you. Outputs can include websites, games, videos, reports, or tools. Its work continues even when offline, and results are delivered with full source files & as a URL that you can edit and share.

He’s playing Monopoly — his car token was moved onto a space with a hotel, he owes the rent and is bankrupt, so he tells the hotel owner “I’m broke.”

OK, nice. Now let's see how Opera performs on Linux compared to Windows—it's the only thing that keeps me on Windows. For example, it's unacceptable that in 2025, Opera on Linux can't be configured in Spanish without using the terminal.

Let's partner. We at http://instafill.ai can bring automatic form filling to your Opera Neon. If you want to be truly agentic browser, not just have primitive ai summaries like other browsers have.
