How Do Y'all Feel About Religion?

Throw me some video material when u get a chance to help illustrate that picture, (doesn't have to be academic).
I'm not closed minded at all bra.
If theirs a link to be drawn connecting antiquity that old to the figures ur referencing (mostly the religious takes) I'm all ears.

Things like who the true Hyksos were & the narratives we're fed about Akhenaten & the origins of monotheism are still highly disputed.

Both point of views are at odds with yt supremacy so we gucci
why do you need video to draw a conclusion tho

but here is a gif to contemplate it

what causes gold to "move"? Without "Ham-mayim" there may not be "Sham-mayim"

Genesis 41:25-30

25 And Joseph said unto Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh is one: God hath shewed Pharaoh what he is about to do.

26 The seven good kine are seven years; and the seven good ears are seven years: the dream is one.

27 And the seven thin and ill favoured kine that came up after them are seven years; and the seven empty ears blasted with the east wind shall be seven years of famine.

28 This is the thing which I have spoken unto Pharaoh: What God is about to do he sheweth unto Pharaoh.

29 Behold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt:

30 And there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine shall consume the land;

The Bible is very misogynistic to women:

"and the dry land appeared"

you may not agree with it, but with the backdrop of eternity what does society stand on in terms of remembered truths

The preface to all the laws mentioned state something along the lines of "You must do this for your own benefit"

so if you choose to not do those, God's Torah message is generally "I will deliver you into the hand of your oppressors and when you call out to me I will remember that you forgot my law"

thats why the core message of most believers in all the Abrahamic faiths are calls to repentance

how great a prophet Isaiah is :wow:

I went through my edgy atheist phase already. Now I have no interest in arguing religion. I'm a full blown nihilist at this point and I see the value in people latching onto religion. The things people complain about when it comes to religion isn't unique to religion.

soooo....his counter point to religon being a means to keep the poor poorer, and limits society innovation and problem solving.....is pointing out how the wealthiest most successful societies have the most atheist?

LOooooooooool

Edit: somehow the full counter arguments even worse. The guy somehow makes the kid statement into some inadvertent insult to black women? Whatta fucking clown

│ Yeah, like, the idiot proved the kid’s argument immediately.

│ │ │ From what I’ve seen about how apologists act, not just in debates, this guy probably isn’t a plant.

│ │ │ │ Christianity has painted itself into a corner.
│ │ │ │
│ │ │ │ Increased access to information and increased literacy rates were nails in the coffin. The fact that the world has been in a constant state of going to shit for 30+ years without Jesus coming back to save everyone are others.
│ │ │ │
│ │ │ │ There have been at least half a dozen each of rapture and end of the world predictions in my lifetime and I am not even that old.
│ │ │ │
│ │ │ │ My wife was told as a kid that Jesus would be back before she graduated high school. She was discouraged from college because Jesus would be back before she graduated. She was told Jesus would be back before her grandparents died.
│ │ │ │
│ │ │ │ Her grandmother died believing (at least shortly before her death) that Jesus would come back.
│ │ │ │
│ │ │ │ Now, her mother is still on the train of belief and having health issues.
│ │ │ │
│ │ │ │ My wife got off the train nearly 20 years ago now and has a very healthy perspective on religion at this point. Religion has taken too much and given too little. People are gullible but they aren't complete idiots. More and more are seeing it the same way this kid does.
│ │ │ │
│ │ │ │ It's part of why the people fostering the far right movement around the world are so desperate. It's why they attack education. Like the kid said, religions is one of the pillars of control and it's crumbling.
│ │ │ │
│ │ │ │ They would knock the world back to the stone age before they give up power.

│ │ │ │ │ I would like to live in a world where your statement is true, but the problem is young people due to the circumstances of the world and lacking the lived experience your wife went through, are turning towards religion at insane rates as a means to cope with how terrible everything is. At least from the data I saw from the UK, anecdotally, and the rise of right wing Gen Z men/ "Trad" culture. It seems to me that rather than blame the right wing and religious zealots that got us here, lacking the critical analysis necessary to analyze the present circumstances, the absence of a left wing alternative, and the right wing media propaganda apparatus has made most young people push further into right wing views, even if it's nonsensical.

│ │ │ │ │ │
│ │ │ │ │ │ this has always been their plan, make the world a miserable place and people will flock toward religion as a coping mechanism.
│ │ │ │ │ │
│ │ │ │ │ │ This is why so much hate is being propagated from the leaders, because the religious is the easiest to control, easiest to manipulate. Think about it, if these people can believe in a make belief person that they never see, and can do terrible things like giving children cancer and still on their knees praying to it, then they will believe whatever the leaders tell them to do.
│ │ │ │ │ │
│ │ │ │ │ │ Remove education, make everything expensive and then people become more religious and easier to control.
│ │ │ │ │ │
│ │ │ │ │ │ We had 20 years of stable growth from 1995 to 2015, too many people in the middle class and having too much ability to think, this is why for the last 10 years, everything has been about tearing it all down so that the top can remain in control.

he definitely has a point

most peoples "use" of religion is why people hate religion

belief in something has nothing to do with "use" of something

but thats how many pastors spread the message, of how you will use this to get this etc

to someone who feels used they would see the message as energy vampires teaching you how to vampire

This is gibberish. I'm Jewish because of my ancestors and wanting to have a relationship with G-d. That's different from worldly affairs. I stand up for my people and donate to social causes. G-d is what helped me become a better rounded person. Just admit, you have a bias against Abrahamic religion. I used to be the same way

You can nation build and have religion.

Ie Nat Turner
Are you ethnically Jewish as well as it being your religion?

I can answer that. The Talmud is just commentary by the Rabbi's. In Conservative Judaism we call it, the Oral Torah.
Can you break down the stuff about those born non jews being put on earth by God to serve jews? I see Jewish people say thats not how to interpret it but then I seen some Talmud breakdowns from Hasidic jews and they were saying that's exactly how you interpret it and this back n forth was between 2 Rabbis

We believe in the Conservative movement that Non Jews can have a relationship with the source. The Hasid movement is really looked at as a cult.

Yeah often when I try to research something related to Judaism I find 2 opposing beliefs held by people who are both regarded as knowledgeable or even authorities on subjects but they vehemently disagree with each other, that's to be said of any religion tho I suppose.

As the joke is that goes in our faith, ask two Jews a question and you'll get three different answers.
