+1. I’ve tried looking at the black spaces on Reddit. They just don’t hit the same, they lack the humor & inside jokes that thecoli had.

Another thing with Reddit is you dont get responses quick and comments are lifeless. Coli we were able to have discussion right then and there with a few cats engaging instead of one quick comment and KIM.

Exactly, along with the smileys too. Like if someone posted the :mjpls: you already know how to interpret something even if it’s a serious thread. I also enjoy a forum layout vs how Reddit is in general. We have the coliseum, the booth, arcadium, tsc & even the Essential threads too. I noticed a bunch of familiar posters / profile pics too. I’m just happy overall that this site got up and running so quickly. I like the trending threads too.

Similar but not the same. SOHH had a ton of problems but there was more communication to let everyone know that the site was never going to update (no custom smiley, you couldn't embed gifs nor images IIRC) and the problems with the servers were constant.

It's like if The Coli would've came back last night and Brook posted the same shit he did on Reddit. Then most of the community would've seen the writing on the wall and started planning. Once the new site was up, most people flocked to it and it didn't even mattered when SOHH came back.

With SOHH it was like if your house was falling apart and the landlord straight up told you he wasn't going to do shit to fix it. With TheColi it feels a house that you know the specifics problems with it, you can fix it and wanna fix it but the landlord ghosted you forever.
 
There's a few different coli discords going on. There's a real big one I forget the name of it.

That's the problem with Brook being an ass and disappearing for years without leaving anyone in charge. Let's say the Reddit shit is bullshit and TheColi does come back in 1-4 days...do we really wanna go back there if Brook gonna continue to be absent until shit gets terminal (like in 2022). On one side we have the comfort of TheColi and the past 13 years of history, but on the other...unless Brook lets other people takeover, we never gonna know when it's truly over.

Thats why im like wash our hands with thecoli as a brand. Start fresh, and dont pay for the sins of the old. That said once things get more stable i do feel this needs to be run as a tighter ship

I think I'm having a hard time buying the idea that Brook was hit up at his work because of the threat thecoli was to the status quo. The shit was bickering, pawgs, and braindead sports takes. Feds care about that?

The use of "harassment" makes it sound like it was not governmental in nature.

Youd be surprised the stuff people search and Coli pops up. If it wasnt ads and maintenance cost i think that charlie k thread brought wrong attention

Issue was TLR was wide open for ad rev purposes likely so if they put it behind the wall it would kill revenue. There has to be some stuff behind the wall or in a vetted discord just to avoid headaches even though im not for putting your name on a slippry slope that can get branded as extreme under this climate

I think everyone's threshold for what is toxic is different too. Maybe move threads that get too crazy to a different subforum. The Wasteland or some shit.

People going at it is what made the coli/sohh entertaining sometimes though. It should be more Smitty vs regularp and less blood feud.

Lol in what world are black people cared about. Coli is probably one of many bodies. If something happens to LSA then we on to something but idk anything about the site besides gossip
