Name Change Suggestions

Only breh is the perfect name.

Having “coli” in the new name would just kill the vibe. Let that name rest in peace.

You could name this place dogshit crescent, it’s the posters that make the site great.

Only brehs is perfect for a fresh start.
I think we should move away from the company coli name, but keep thecoli2 as a redirect.

Edit: should this thread and the suggestions one be moved to Event Staff?

chatgpt suggestions:

Got it — you’re aiming for something that feels like TheColi in spirit: short, memorable, tied to culture, sports, music, and community. Ideally, a good forum name is:

  • Catchy & easy to say (one or two syllables, like “Coli”)
  • Cultural resonance (something that hints at hip hop, sports, or community)
  • Expandable (so it can cover multiple topics, not just one)
  • Unique but familiar (stands out, but feels natural in conversation: “I saw it on ___”)

Here are some ideas across different styles:

Community / Gathering Inspired

  • The Corner – evokes the street corner, where people debate sports, music, and life.
  • The Spot – casual, universal, implies a hangout.
  • The Cypher – nod to hip hop freestyle circles, but also group discussion.
  • The Huddle – sports vibe, teamwork, conversation.

Culture / Identity Driven

  • The Block – rooted in community, neighborhood vibes.
  • The Forum – clean, classical, timeless.
  • The Wiretap – edgy, feels like you’re tuned into real convos.
  • The Pulse – where culture beats and discussions happen.

Playful / Slang-based

  • The Chop – “chopping it up” in conversation.
  • The Cookout – communal, fun, cultural gathering space.
  • The Lab – where ideas, music, and debates are created/tested.
  • The Rant – for sports takes, hip hop debates, hot opinions.

Hybrid / Multi-topic Friendly

  • The Exchange – works for sports, music, politics, ideas.
  • The Arena – strong, debate-focused, sports + culture crossover.
  • The Session – casual, could be sports session, studio session, life session.
  • The Circle – inclusive, conversational, timeless.

I personally would like to see the site drop the coli name but still reference some of our tropes. Be a full rebrand and new site.
Streets is Talking is a good name

Breh and Brehs
