Seeing as I'm one of the guys keeping this thread alive on the Coli. I will be the one to kick it off here. Since it's the snob thread we talkin that craft beer shit. Not your college keg/dive bar beers in here. I'm in a local Hops Club so every month we do a regular tasting of beers that will really introduce you to new styles and breweries. Whenever I travel I try to find either a micro brewery or some regional brewery that is known to the area. If I can't find either it's great coming across a restaurant or bar that touts having several taps or bottles/cans on hand. Anyway enough babble here is another one of my recent purchases

Picked up the Pure Pils by KC Bier Co style is Pilsner and the ABV is 4.8%. Pilsners are one of my fall back styles that I feel you pretty much always know what you're going to get. And this is no different. I will say that despite it's light ABV there is something in the finish that doesn't make it feel crushable. You know like you just get done mowing the lawn. You crack this can it's missing that ahhh hit the spot.

Motherfuckin Terps lost. So might as well grab some beers for Tall Can Saturday. Today's tall can is the Oktoberfest from Sandhills Brewing. ABV is 6.1%. They brewed this with a Pilsner and it comes through on this one. It's light and malty didn't pour it out so don't know it's color. But, the Pilsner base seems to be washing out any of the normal Marzen notes. Will be interested in how a second tasting of this beer plays profile wise.

what do you know. Another Saturday. Another Terps 4th Quarter collapse/Loss. Might as well enjoy a Tall Can.

Tonight's Tall Can is the Irish Style Red Ale from Manhattan Brewing Company. The ABV is 4.8, style is a Red Ale. Hits all the notes you'd expect out of a red. See some people say it was kind of earthy but it's got more of a biscuity/malty finish in my opinion. If you like this style it is one you should try if you have them near you.
