The Official Horror Thread

Will be tough beating out PTA. Sinners is gonna get noms for days but screenplay and/or score might be its best chance at actually taking something home. The Academy does not fuck with horror like that.

Spinning this shit on 4K now tho. :rejoice:

Caught ‘House of 1000 Corpses’ as part of my freebie day for the horror marathon. Absolutely fucks with the grindhouse aesthetic, the moments that are a homage to TCM, but got the sense Rob truly lost himself making a film too disjointed for its own good.

Limited screentime with Sid Haig and then having to sit through bits that are obviously intended to show off his wife, who isn’t even all that and cannot act to save her life. Nails on a chalkboard. :camby:

There’s a really good movie in there somewhere with Dr. Satan and a deeper dive into why that white trash family is the way that it is, which is part of what I thought ‘The Devil’s Rejects’ capitalized on. I’m harsh on Zombie’s stuff, but that’s a legitimately good movie.

Not every horror director can be like Mike Flanagan showing off his dime wife in projects who can also act her ass off. Nepotism done right.

I have said this many times before, the Devil's Rejects is a superior film, but HOATC is my favorite of the series. The flick is just raw. Loads of fukkery. It's just a fun horror film.

Plus Dr. Satan>>>>>>

I would actually go to a theater for a standalone movie about that character.

I feel that. As far as vibes go, I’m right there with you. Dr. Satan was amazing. Probably my favorite sequence from the whole thing. Dude had the look of a Mad Max villain.

Poor ol girl could’ve taken the easy way out and take a fatal bullet but ends up subjecting herself to all kinds of torture as Dr. Satan’s next “patient”. :dead:

Are y'all watching the 'Monster: Ed Gein Story' on Netflix? I'm two episodes in and that is one creepy, sick muthafucka

Not yet. Definitely on the watchlist though.
My backlog is crazy. Like I said on the coli,
I work in accounting IT { it exists). I was lead on 3 projects, one completed this summer and 2 next year and I am working 16-19 hours a day (most weekends to get all this done. To make matters worse, The one due this year, got done about 45 days early and they asked me to assist with another groups project that was having issues ???
:dwillhuh:

As long as the house is getting paid for , I will do it.

So its definitely cutting into my free time.

Hereditary is such a fucked up masterpiece.

A24 gotta be giving Ari a little side-eye after his two joints flopped, but I’m glad he made them. Eddington is aging really well. It’s…scary.
