OCTOBER 8--While being booked into a Florida county lockup on drug and trespassing charges, Walter Frymire passed through an X-ray machine that jailers use to thwart attempts at smuggling in contraband.
But while Frymire, 51, was not found to have stashed weapons or narcotics on his person, he was still packing.
As seen in the adjacent image, when Frymire went through the body scanner, corrections workers spotted a full-size thermos inside the detainee’s body.
Sadly, police records do not include the manufacturer or dimensions of the thermos, which entered Frymire’s body a day earlier via “the exit ramp,” according to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.
Frymire, who has a sprawling criminal record, was busted Saturday evening for trespassing on Amtrak property in Winter Haven. A frisk turned up a “glass pipe with a burned residue consistent with methamphetamine,” according to a police affidavit that noted that Frymire reportedly admitted to using meth for 28 years.
While being transported to jail, Frymire allegedly warned the an officer, “If you arrest me, I will find you and kill you.” Told that it was illegal to make such a threat, Frymire, cops say, replied, "Good, I'm going to kill you, so charge it."
Seen at left, Frymire is locked up in lieu of $12,000 bond on two felony and two misdemeanor counts.
The thermos was removed from Frymire’s rectum at a local hospital. He was not charged with seeking to smuggle a prohibited item into the jail.
